"The ear cuffs don't fit in my ears" "They hurt when I wear them"
Do you have such concerns?
It is possible to adjust the width of the opening of 925 silver ear cuffs to a certain extent by yourself. However, if you forcefully open them with your hands, they may lose their shape or break due to metal fatigue. In this article, we will introduce a way to gently open ear cuffs while avoiding such risks.
Is it okay to try to force it open with your hands?
When you want to narrow the ear cuff, you can adjust it relatively easily by lightly pressing both ends. On the other hand, when you want to widen the opening, it is difficult to get the right amount of pressure, and you may accidentally open it too much or distort the shape.
If you force the ear cuff on, it will hurt your ears and the fit will be poor, so you need to adjust it. However, if you stretch it out by hand every time, it will put a little bit of strain on the metal, so you need to be careful.

The video introduces a safe method that can be done without specialized tools. Things that are hard to understand from text alone are clear when you see the movements. Please take a look.
What you need
-
A plastic plate (or thick paper, etc.) about 2-3 mm thick
*We do not recommend using metal plates as they may scratch the ear cuff. - A soft cloth (such as a jewelry or glasses cloth)
Adjustment Procedure
- Fold the cloth in half and place the board in between.
- Slowly pass the board sandwiched between the cloth through the gap in the ear cuff.
It may be tight and difficult to thread at first, but the key is to move it little by little without forcing it. - Repeat the insertion and removal several times to get used to it.
- Next, fold the cloth in quarters to make it even thicker.
- Repeat the same process of passing it through and taking it out.
- Gradually increase the number of layers of cloth to get closer to the desired width.
Try wearing them in your ears from time to time to make sure they're the right width.
The good thing about this method
- The shape is less likely to collapse than if you spread it out directly with your hands.
- Prevents excessive force, reducing the risk of damage
- No special tools required, just things you have at home
I myself used to forcefully open the ear cuffs with my hands, but since I came up with this method, I've been using it ever since. Even with thick, stiff ear cuffs, you can adjust them little by little if you do it slowly and carefully.
Finally, one last thing to note
Even with this method, repeatedly widening and narrowing the ears can still put a strain on the metal, so we recommend keeping adjustments to a minimum .
Also, ear cuffs made of gold such as K18 or K10 are harder metal than silver, so it may be a little difficult to stretch them using this method.
However, if you adjust the width only slightly, it is possible to widen it just like with silver. Please proceed carefully while checking the condition.
If you are having trouble with the fit of your ear cuffs, try this method.
